Survival Training Simulation Theatre

CORD has access to the Survival Systems Limited Survival Training Simulation Theatre (STST), a state of the art marine environmental simulation facility. The STST is equipped with a 12 m x 18 m pool that is 5 m deep. The pool is equipped with:

a WaveBall to generate turbulent wave conditions in the pool.

a fan to generate wind up to 20 km/hr in the centre of the pool

20 UL standard rain heads at a height of 8 m above the water surface

THX surround sound system for realistic sound environment creation

Badu Jets in Shallow end to create current in the pool, or to obscure visibility

4 underwater colour-changing lights allow water colour to be adjusted

5 m and 8.5 m jumping platforms

5 m rope scramble net

Helicopter hoist to overhead Helicopter cabin Mock-up on Catwalk, with downwash spray nozzles

Rappelling Station through overhead helicopter "HellHole"

Underwater sound system

Remote controlled searchlights

SmartJib (TM) and Modular Egress Training Simulator (METS)

Hot tub and Sauna for Rewarming

Two Classrooms for briefing and lessons

With all of these facilities, we can conduct product performance ir human factors assessments in many different environmental scenarios.
